Well, we found our dream home Thursday. Placed a bid Thursday night knowing that we were in competition with another bidder. Offered $2000 MORE than what the seller wanted. They rejected it last night even though it was the better contract! Why? The seller’s wife was friends with the other bidder and they agreed verbally that she could have it when the friend came over for tea! Although I do not know what the other bidder offered, I would be willing to guess that they lost thousands of dollars because of the wife’s verbal agreement. The husband wanted to go with me, and their real estate agent was incensed that they had done this behind her back. She did everything she could to try to disqualify their friend. Heather and I are bummed. But I keep telling myself there are other houses just as good as that one out there. Whatever happens is usually for the best.
I rented episodes 17-20 of “24” season 2 earlier this week. Since we are leaving for Big D today, we had to watch them all last night. I called Heather and asked her if she wanted some Quizno’s cakes to go with the marathon session of 24? She said “of course.” So I headed off to Quizno’s and the owner saw me going for the cakes. We have a running joke that I am making it difficult for him to plan how many cakes to hold in inventory. I told him this time that I was headed out of town for two weeks and wouldn’t be around. He said, “What am I going to do with all that inventory!”
Stayed up till 1 AM watching 4 hours of 24. God I love that show!
