Life in Tucson

What would you do if you opened the door to the garage from the house (the larger garage door was already open) and smelled something akin to road kill? You also hear something like “snuffling” noises. What I did was stand motionless in the door well, and assess the situation. It took me a minute of so to identify the culprit.

My blog’s been getting quite overlooked these days. I think I know why it’s happening because it coincides with some stressful happenings with my company. Suffice it to say, some big things are happening that are forcing me to reevaluate partnerships. It’s looking like my partner is now my adversary. And lawyers are involved. Yuck! It’s going to be coming to a head tomorrow afternoon or maybe Thursday. I’ll be expecting an angry phone call. Fun fun! Will I have to go back to work as a wage slave? Probably not. But I’m certainly not discounting the possibility. I have a couple of years of income set aside for an emergency like this, but I may have to spend that money on lawyers.

So how do I deal with stress? Poorly. I’ve been waking up really early (2:50am one day.) I walk around in a trance while my mind is going over and over the past events and the future scenarios. I have the “queasy stomach” feeling and can almost feel my hair turning gray(G). I recognize it as stress, as it’s happening, but I can’t mentally stop it. Same thing for depression. I know I’m depressed when I’m laying there in bed staring at the ceiling, but I still can’t snap myself out of it.

So do you have any guesses about what snuffles around and smells like road kill? Javelina’s! Five of them to be exact. They had found a big bag of “wild bird” seed they were eating. I got them out of the garage by hitting the garage door button a couple of times.

I snapped this picture of them when they were safely out the garage and lounging carefree under my orange tree. Ahh to be carefree again! Maybe someday…
