Heather and I are off to Phoenix today to compete in the monthly jack and jill at the Phoenix swing club. Typically there’s over 40 people competing… way bigger than Tucson! We didn’t place last month but we did make the finals!
Phoenix is a 2 hour drive and before a trip of this nature, I like to load up my phone with podcasts. One of my favorites is Leo Laporte’s weekly KFI radio show. Unfortunately, everytime I tried to grab it from Leo’s feed link I got this.
I just thought I would pass on the tip that you can get through at 5 minutes after the hour. I used my atomic clock and started clicking the links at exactly the hour. No dice until 5 minutes after. So feedburner’s clock is not accurate. When you do get through, click ALL the links at once! The window of opportunity is not open long(g).
I also noticed my podcatcher has been having a problem with Leo’s feed. Now I know why. I thought briefly about telling Leo about this but couldn’t find his email address on his blog.
I wanted to show you part of my computer wallpaper in the pic above. I got it from Flikr. An amazing free website that let’s you share full resolution pictures. Visit my Flikr pictures here.
I got permission to jump start my new web site with Chuck Tomasi’s front page. Thank you Chuck! He has a great techie based podcast as well.
I chose to host westcoastpatterns at godaddy. The deal is $3.95/mo with 500MB of disk space and 25GB of bandwidth. You get 1 mysql database and the use of php. You do not get ssh (command line access). My goal is to have a fully functional site under those constraints. I’m not sure if this is possible without ssh. Still, the fun is in the trying.
I’ll let you know how we do in the contest….
